You can eat all the right foods and take handfuls of supplements—but if your gut isn't absorbing nutrients properly, you're not getting what you need.
IV therapy bypasses the gut entirely. Nutrients go straight into your bloodstream—100% absorption, immediate availability to your cells.
At Rooted Health Clinic, we offer targeted IV nutrient protocols for:
• Energy and fatigue — B vitamins, amino acids, magnesium
• Detoxification — glutathione, vitamin C, alpha-lipoic acid
• Immune support — high-dose vitamin C, zinc, B vitamins
• Recovery (illness, surgery, hangover, athletic performance)
• Anti-aging and longevity — NAD+, glutathione, antioxidants
• Brain fog and cognitive support — NAD+, B vitamins, amino acids
This isn't a "vitamin drip spa." We use pharmaceutical-grade nutrients, evidence-based protocols, and functional medicine principles. Every IV is prescribed and monitored by Dr. Altman.
Our IV Therapy Protocols
1. NAD+ Infusion — Longevity & Brain Protocol
What is NAD+? Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide—a coenzyme in every cell that powers mitochondria (your cellular energy factories). NAD+ declines with age, stress, illness, and poor diet. Low NAD+ = fatigue, brain fog, poor recovery, accelerated aging.
What it's used for:
• Energy and chronic fatigue
• Brain fog and cognitive decline
• Anti-aging (DNA repair, sirtuin activation)
• Addiction recovery (reduces cravings)
• Athletic recovery
• Long COVID and mitochondrial dysfunction
How it feels: NAD+ can cause mild chest tightness, nausea, or flushing during infusion—we slow the rate if needed. Effects: mental clarity, sustained energy, improved mood. Benefits build with repeat sessions.
Protocol:
• Initial loading: 4 sessions over 2 weeks
• Maintenance: 1-2x per month
• Duration: 2-4 hours per session (slow drip)
Cost: ~$140/session (varies by dose)
2. Glutathione Infusion — Master Antioxidant
What is glutathione? Your body's most powerful antioxidant. Neutralizes free radicals, supports detox (liver, kidneys), reduces inflammation, supports immune function.
What it's used for:
• Detoxification (heavy metals, pesticides, mold)
• Liver support
• Immune support (chronic infections, autoimmune)
• Skin health (acne, anti-aging, brightening)
• Chronic fatigue (reduces oxidative stress)
• Neurodegenerative support (Parkinson's, Alzheimer's)
Protocol:
• Push (5-10 minutes) or drip (30-60 minutes) based on clinical needs
• Frequency: 1-2x per week for active detox; 1-2x per month maintenanceCost: ~$140/session
3. High-Dose Vitamin C — Immune & Cancer Support
What is high-dose vitamin C? At therapeutic IV doses, vitamin C becomes pro-oxidant—selectively toxic to cancer cells and pathogens while protecting healthy cells. Also powerful immune support.
What it's used for:
• Acute infections (flu, pneumonia, COVID)
• Cancer support (adjunct therapy, improves chemo outcomes)
• Chronic infections (EBV, Lyme)
• Immune optimization
• Sepsis recovery
Protocol:
• Dosing individualized based on clinical presentation
• Frequency: 1-2x per week during acute illness; 1-2x per month maintenance
• Duration: 1-2 hours
Note: Requires G6PD testing (genetic enzyme deficiency screening) before first session.
Cost: ~$140/session
4. Myers' Cocktail — Classic Energy & Wellness IV
What's in it? Magnesium, calcium, B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12), vitamin C. The original IV nutrient protocol developed by Dr. John Myers in the 1960s.
What it's used for:
• General fatigue and low energy
• Migraines and tension headaches
• Fibromyalgia
• Seasonal allergies
• Upper respiratory infections
• Athletic recovery
• Hangover recovery
Protocol:
• Single session: 30-45 minutes

Protocol:
• Single session: 45-60 minutes
• Frequency: At first sign of illness, then 2-3x per week until recovered
Cost: ~$140/session

What it's used for:
• Heavy metal exposure (mercury, lead, arsenic)
• Mold toxin exposure
• Chemical toxin exposure (pesticides, plastics)
• Liver support during detox protocols
Protocol:
• Frequency: 1-2x per week for 4-8 weeks (active detox phase)

What to Expect
Before Your First IV
We'll review your health history, current medications, and treatment goals. Some IVs require lab work first (G6PD for high-dose vitamin C, basic metabolic panel for NAD+).
During the IV
You'll sit in a comfortable chair. IV insertion takes 1-2 minutes. Infusion time varies: 30 minutes (quick IVs like Myers' Cocktail) to 4 hours (NAD+ loading doses). You can read, work on your phone, or relax.
After the IV
Most people feel effects immediately (energy, mental clarity, reduced symptoms). Some IVs (NAD+, glutathione) have cumulative effects that build over multiple sessions.
How Often?
Depends on your goals:
• Acute illness/recovery: 1-2x per week until improved
• Chronic conditions: 1-2x per week for 4-8 weeks, then maintenance 1-2x per month
• Wellness/prevention: 1x per month
• Performance: Weekly during heavy training cycles
Safety & Quality
• Pharmaceutical-grade ingredients — hospital-quality, sterile, FDA-approved
• Prescribed and monitored by Dr. Altman — every IV is medically supervised
• Sterile technique — all IVs administered by trained medical staff
• Emergency equipment on-site — we're prepared for allergic reactions (rare)
Who shouldn't get IV therapy?
• Severe kidney disease
• Congestive heart failure (IV fluids can overload)

Success Stories
"NAD+ brought my brain back." "Long COVID left me with severe brain fog—couldn't think, couldn't work. Dr. Altman started me on NAD+ IVs. After 4 sessions I could think clearly again. After 8 sessions I was back to work full-time. This saved my career." — M.B., Temple, TX
"Glutathione cleared my skin." "I've had cystic acne for years. Nothing worked. Dr. Altman said it was inflammation and started me on glutathione IVs. My skin cleared up in 6 weeks. I'm still doing monthly maintenance and it stays clear." — A.T., Salado, TX
"Myers' Cocktail ended my migraines." "I was getting migraines 3-4x per week. Dr. Altman suggested weekly Myers' Cocktails. After the first one, my migraine stopped in 20 minutes. I've been doing them weekly and I'm down to maybe 1 migraine per month. Life-changing." — S.K., Killeen, TX
